Only downside of living abroad along with being away from your family is missing on those delicious mouth watering Indian desserts!!! . . I wont say we dont have access to them, we do however those is something really different than what we are used to eating from local mithaiwalas back in India..!😍 . . . So in order to satiate the cravings we either have to get those packaged (dont know when) products while compromising on taste as well as quantity for those being really expensive or we have to get into our kitchen apron and make one our selves...! ♥️♥️♥️DABELI♥️♥️♥️ Yet ano ♥️♥️♥️DABELI♥️♥️♥️ Yet another meal prep friendly Appetizer that you can add to your Diwali party menu! Its super easy, definitely crowd pleaser and also bit Hatke 😍 isnt it? . . Dabeli brings back so many memories and makes me nostalgic every single time. I had my first dabeli when it was sold for 3 rupees, childhood favorite, after school secret and ahh just close to my heart! I choose dabeli over vada pav any day 🤭😋🙆‍♀️🙆‍♀️ Dont come at me for saying this! . . Well let's see how to make this super delicious Dabeli at home without any store bought dabeli masala: Ingredients: 3 medium size potatoes , boiled and mashed fine 2 tsp oil 1 tsp cumin seeds 1/2 red onion diced 1 tsp chili powder 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp amchur powder 1 tsp anar Dana powder Salt to taste 1/2 cup fresh pomegranate seeds 1/4 cup roasted peanuts (add pinch of salt and red chili powder to it) Cilantro for garnish Nylon sev DIRECTIONS: 1. To a pan add oil on medium heat, add cumin seeds, add onion and cook until translucent. 2. Now add all the spices, let it cook for 10 secs and add potatoes. 3. Mix well, add salt and cook for 2 min with lid on. 4. Take the mixture out in shallow serving dish, spread it evenly. 5. Top it with pomegranate seeds, peanuts, sev and cilantro. 6. Take pav, spread green chutney on one side, red chutney on other side, stuff the mixture in between and toast it on pan with some butter on all side. 7. Its so easy to make and so delicious 😋 So all my masala papad lovers time to switch it up a little and try this version! I am sure you won't be disappointed. . . . Makes for a perfect Diwali party Appetizer l, you can even roll the papad and serve it as a cone! Definitely won't be disappointed 😌 . . . INGREDIENTS: 1/2 cup corn (boiled corn kernals) 1/4 tsp chili powder 1/4 tsp cumin powder 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 chaat masala Green chutney Tamarind chutney Cotija cheese Cilantro Nylon sev 1/4 cup finely chopped onion. 1 tsp Oil Salt to taste . DIRECTIONS: 1. In a small saute pan, add oil on medium high heat. 2. Add onion and sauté until translucent. 3. Add all the masala and saute for 10 seconds. 4. Add boiled corn (drained and pat dried) and mix well 5. Add salt. 6. Cook for 4-5 min and let it cool. 7. Roast 1 papad, add generous amount of corn mixture, drizzle some sev, chutneys, cheese. Patodi / Patwadi / Patodya is a savory besan (aka Patodi / Patwadi / Patodya is a savory besan (aka chickpea flour) wadi (something similar to fudge like) It is commonly made in parts of Maharashtra on festive occasions! it makes for amazing Appetizer or side and adds perfect color to that festive thali! So I have been wanting to share this recipe for a while, but I wasn't comfortable myself. recently perfected the recipe on a video call with mom and learned the authentic way! practiced couple of times and voila it came out just perfect 👌 so here is the fail proof recipe for you guys! . . . Patwadi Ingredients 1 cup besan / Chickpea flour / Gram flour 1 cup water 3-4 green chilli 4-5 garlic cloves 1/2 inch ginger 5-6 curry leaves 1/2 tsp mustard seeds 1/2 tsp cumin seeds Pinch of hing 1/2 tsp turmeric powder Salt to taste Some coriander leaves Sprinkle some fresh/dry coconut 2 tsp oil + some for greasing the pan . . Directions: 1. To a blender, add green chilli, garlic cloves, ginger, and curry leaves. Grind it into a paste. Keep it aside. 2. Heat oil in the pan on medium high, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and hing. let it splatter. 3. Add the paste made before and sauté it for about minute. 4. Add turmeric powder and water, bring it to a rolling boil. 5. Lower the flame, and slowly start adding besan/chickpea flour while whisking continuesly as you incorporate the flour into water. 6. This is very important step so do not stop stirring until the mixture is smooth with no lumps. 7. Cover and cook mixture for 8-10 minutes on low heat. 8. After around 10 minutes, the mixture should leave the sides of the wok and appear as dough. 9. Switch off the flame and take out the mixture into a grease plate. 10. With greased hands or silicon spatula, flatten the dough to about an 1/2 inch thickness . Garnish with finely grated coconut. Cut into desired shapes on cooling using a greased knife. Hello 👋 Foodies! So whats new other than the ou Hello 👋 Foodies! So whats new other than the outage😆 Well I did not meal prep this week, why? I have fridge full of fresh produce and mostly planning to make salads 🥗 and soups for most of my meals! Also weather has finally changed, the mornings are now cooler, fuzzies are out and I can finally wear my most favorite sweater all day long! 😊🍁 . . . Since weather is getting cold, soups sounds like fun meal! Isnt it! Well I was super glad I dont have to wait longer to make it since I got @eatpropergood ready to eat soup packets! #nonsponsored I am not into frozen food much but this was to my surprise different! The soup isnt frozen and comes in recyclable packaging and can be kept out. Just reheat on stove top or microwave (transfer to glad bowl) and voila its ready. . . . I tried their coconut Turmeric one and it was just perfect for me. Check them out if you are looking for some clean soup options!
